Skating Through the Decades We are looking for skaters of all ages and skill level to join our show! - Tryouts will take place Thursday, February 23rd 5:30-6:30.5:30-6:00 PM Snowplow Sam 1-4 and Basic 1-36:00-6:30 PM Basic 4 and above• If you are already a member of the Cleveland Ice Storm Synchronized Skating teams, you DO NOT need to attend these tryouts. The costume fee is due March 1st for CI SSC members.• Skaters will be evaluated on ice to determine which group they will skate in. Their current L TS level will also be considered.• Skaters will be measured for their costumes. Costume fees ($60 for girls and $30 for boys) for learn to skate members are due on the evening of tryouts at the front desk.• Group lists, music/theme for each group, practice schedules, and tickets will be available March 1st.Practices will be Sunday afternoons.March 26thApril 2nd, 16th, 23rd, 30thMay 7thNo practices- April 9th and May 14th
The United States Figure Skating Association requires that each Learn to Skate student pay an annual membership fee of $16.00. This covers USFS materials, badges, books and insurance. This one-time fee is effective from July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023.
A program designed for ages 2 1/2 to 4 years. This is a great family program where skaters and parents learn together the basics of skating. Skaters advance from Parent & Tot to the Snowplow Sam classes. This is a five week session. No Classes April 19 - 25, 2019
A program designed for ages 3 to 6 years. This tot beginner program is designed to make the skaters more comfortable and in control when they are on the ice. The Snowplow program is built on 4 levels. Snowplow Sam 1 introduces skills such as: marching across the ice (both forward and backward), gliding, and the proper falling and standing techniques. Snowplow Sam 2 introduces skills such as: swizzles, slaloms in and out of obstacles, and stronger forward and backward skating. Snowplow Sam 3 & Snowplow Sam 4 introduces skills such as: backward swizzles, forward-to-back turns, snowplow stops, one-foot gliding, along with other intermediate skating skills.
A program designed for the beginner skater ages 6 years and over. Students learn proper falling and standing skills, forward and backward skating, two-foot glides, hopping, and beginning stops. Children learn to be comfortable on skates and really enjoy the ice. Recommended for figure skating and hockey.
This class introduces one-foot glides, backward glides, backward swizzles, one-foot pumps, two-foot turns from forward to backward, and a moving snowplow stop. Recommended for figure skating and hockey.
This class refines the correct use of the skate blade and includes forward slaloms, backward one-foot glides, introduction to cross-overs, and two-foot spins. Recommended for figure skating and hockey.
